The new wagons also increase their competitive advantage, mainly due to the transport efficiency, as one two-cell wagon can transport up to 140 tonnes of the required goods. By deploying the new transport technology, ZSSK CARGO expects to achieve overall transport efficiency and optimise operating and maintenance costs.
The Sgmmrrs wagons consist of two connected cells (2 x 30ft) with two 15ft containers on each platform. Initially, one to two trains per week will run, with the number of trains gradually increasing according to the trial schedule. They are scheduled to begin regular service on April 1.
