One of the leading companies in railcars leas, Ermewa SA has won a contract from Mecitalia's subsidiary Mercitalia Rail. The contract concerns the lease of 100 railcars intended for the transport of steel coils.
The first 25 Shimmns cars were shimmns sent by Ermewa to Italy last week. The last cars are expected to be delivered to Mercitalia Rail during June.
Shimms railcars were made on behalf of Ermewa at Inve's workshops in Orval, France. These four-axle cars weigh 90 tons. They are equipped with, for example, GPS or a compact brake. The railcars are also ready for future installation of automatic screwdrivers (DAC).
Mercitalia Rail specialises in rail traction services. It is the main railway company in Italy. It operates approximately 13,000 cars and a fleet of more than 340 electric locomotives and 130 diesel in-line locomotives.
Ermewa SA is a European leader in rail freight hire. It offers its clients a fleet of 42,000 railway cars. The company employs 1,200 people and operates in a total of 80 countries, where it focuses primarily on the design, optimization and management of strategic assets.
