Deutsche Bahn gets a new IT boss: Nicole Göbel becomes CEO of the IT subsidiary DB Systel

Nicole Göbel received the opinion of DB Systel GmbH on 1 February 2022. The IT manager of DB works around 5,400 employees at the Frankfurt, Erfurt, and Berlin locations. DB Systel is the IT provider and digital partner of DB: The competent IT and competence expertise in the development and development of new technologies and IT solutions.

Dr. Daniela Gerd tom Markotten, Board Member for Digitization and Technology at Deutsche Bahn AG: "Strong IT is the foundation for the digitization of the railways and is therefore crucial in order to make the railways the means of transport of choice for even more customers. I am pleased that we were able to recruit Nicole Göbel for this key position, who combines technology and industry knowledge.”

Before moving to DB, Göbel was Managing Director at Accenture, a leading global management consultancy. In this role, she supported customers from the areas of transport, travel, and logistics in complex digital transformation processes. In the past 20 years, Göbel has worked on a wide variety of projects for railway companies worldwide. Most recently, she was European Rail and Public Transport Lead at Accenture, where she was responsible for customers such as Deutsche Bahn.

Nicole Göbel succeeds Christa Koenen, who joined DB Schenker as Digital Director in September.
