German railway company Deutsche Bahn complained that it couldn't fully use its capacities to export Ukrainian grain because of the EU border bureaucracy.
"We could travel even more if the border crossing at the external border of the EU were faster," the company representative told Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland.
According to him, it is necessary to expand the infrastructure and speed up border processes at the external borders of the EU.
"In our opinion, centralized coordination - strategic and operational - will allow transporting more cargo by rail," the spokesman added. The demand for transport capacity is very high. He continued, "We drive as much as we can."
As reported, Deutsche Bahn Cargo and subsidiaries in Poland and Romania send several echelons of Ukrainian grain to different seaports every day.
In May, Deutsche Bahn said they planned to support Ukraine in grain exports livelier.
