Deutsche Bahn (DB) is hiring even more junior employees this year. Three years in a row of the pandemic the previous year, DB provided approximately 5,000 jobs to young talents, up from a reasonable 4,700 in 2020. In total, Deutsche Bahn wants to hire at least 21,000 new employees this year. There were 22,000 of them in 2021. With a personnel offensive at a record level, the rail mode further strengthens the group's strategy.

DB HR Director Martin Seiler: "We perceive that competition in the labor market is growing, which is why we will be even more trained and qualified. Personnel force is needed to turn around mobility. That is why we are adding much more to our offer for interns and dual students. We are training tomorrow's specialists ourselves. "

Appointments for 2022 are already underway. Applicants do not need a cover letter to apply. It does not say a lot about the DB. Instead, the group relies on a new practical online test in the selection process. Here, candidates can demonstrate their skills in addition to school grades.

With more than 13,000 trained people during all training years, Deutsche Bahn is still one of the largest training companies in Germany. Onboard DB, young professionals can look forward to several other benefits in addition to modern training facilities and qualification methods. In addition to the fundamental guarantee of admission when passing the final exam, it also includes attractive travel discounts and tablets at the beginning of the training, which supports increasingly digital learning in vocational education. In October 2021, the magazine "Capital" recognized DB as a top educational company. Among other things, DB evaluated various teaching and learning methods and the supervision of younger employees in the company - even during pandemics.
