CFL multimodal, a leading intermodal logistics provider, has joined forces with KLOG Logistics Solutions to introduce a new intermodal train service between Sète, France, and Poznań, Poland. The service is among the top five longest intermodal rail connections in Europe, covering a distance of over 2,000 km between VIIA-Sète terminal and Poznań, with Captrain Polska taking over traction in Poland.
The new train connection can transport up to 38 trailers of IKEA and Inditex products on each train, offering a reliable and efficient means of transport for goods. The T3000 wagons used for P400 trailers provide multimodal flexibility, enabling fast loading and seamless connections between the Spanish and Polish markets in just 48 hours while saving more than 12,000 tonnes of carbon emissions per year.

“We are delighted to be working continuously with KLOG, together with IKEA and Inditex, on sustainable developments, shifting the delivery of goods from road to rail, and thus, reducing carbon emissions. For instance, we are currently evaluating the potential expansion of this new connection with more door-to-door solutions and thus a strengthening of this collaboration on future endeavours,” said Sven Löffler, Chief Commercial Officer of CFL multimodal.
