The Canadian government has banned imports of Russian steel, aluminium and products made from these materials, including railway components.
The ban was introduced as part of amendments to sanctions for Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The sanctions apply to steel and iron derivative products, including rails and materials for connecting and fixing and building railway and tram tracks. The restriction does not apply to contracts concluded before the publication of the amendments.
