By integrating the TransFER Budapest – Brno and Budapest – Köseköy lines, ÖBB RCG will be able to transport goods directly from Turkey to Hungary and the Czech Republic. The ÖBB Rail Caro Group (RCG) announced that it is expanding its network by combining its new TransFER Budapest-Brno connection with the existing TransFER Budapest-Köseköy service.
Doubling the number of direct return services between Budapest and Köseköy, combined with the new TransFER service between Budapest and Brno, means that it will be possible to transport goods directly from Turkey to Hungary and from there to the Czech Republic twice a week.
RCG offers its customers a new, high-performance and stable connection between the Czech Republic and Turkey. DSV, in particular, will use this for its customers. Both services are an integral part of TransNET RCG and facilitate further distribution to all RCG destinations.
One of the hallmarks of this new transport route is its connection with northern and northeastern Europe from Brno or from Köseköy to Asia. In addition, the Budapest rail junction can also be used to connect with the New Silk Road.
New connection RCG Budapest – Brno TransFER 5 May 2021. It will provide efficient and environmentally friendly transport services between Hungary and the Czech Republic for sea transport and continental transport.
This connection between the Brno container terminal and the BILK terminal in Budapest provides a fast shipping time of 12 hours and operates two return connections per week. TransFER Budapest – Köseköy connects the Asian part of Turkey with Europe through the Marmaray Tunnel. The possibility of connecting the new TransFER Budapest – Brno with Anatoly and Central Asia / China opens up the possibility of connecting with economic nodes throughout Western Europe and connecting the whole of Eurasia to the RCG network.
This TransFER connection also provides customers with end-to-end handling services as well as timely shipping. Traction and handling services are running seamlessly by one machine. Thanks to its transport service to and from Turkey, ÖBB RCG offers excellent connections to its intermodal network and enables efficient further distribution across the Eurasian continent on its extensive TransNET network. Fixed timetables and attractive transport times ensure a reliable and efficient transport service.
