ÖBB Rail Cargo Group expands its intermodal composition with a new TransFER connecting Milan and Moscow. This sustainable transportation solution connects Italy with Russia with high regularity and short transportation times.
Novik Group and RCG have launched a new intermodal co-operation between Italy and Russia. With combined strengths, the new TransFER Milan–Chernyakhovsk/Kaliningrad–Moscow delivers an aspiring and environmentally friendly transport method equal to traditional truck transportation. This connection on the sustainable railroad between Milan and Moscow secures a rapid travel time of only ten to twelve days and operates with one round trip per week.
With a direct and fast service providing whole units, including loading and unloading alternatives at the Chernyakhovsk Border Crossing Terminal (near Kaliningrad), TransFER offers additional transport options in both ways for neighboring European countries along the tracks.
The TransFER includes door-to-door solutions covering miscellaneous storage and delivery requirements, including labeling assistance for goods following Russian legislation. Using over 1,000 Novik-owned 40ft High Cube Pallet-sized containers, all types of goods can be transported as well as heavy freight.
