ÖBB Rail Cargo Group has introduced a direct rail service connecting Serbia and Croatia, enhancing logistics in the Western Balkans with reduced transit times and environmental benefits.
The new route links the Nelt container terminal near Belgrade with the Adriatic Gate Container Terminal in Rijeka, Croatia’s largest port. This connection will handle approximately 70% of the country’s imports and exports. The TransFER route is designed to streamline logistics operations, reduce transit times, and strengthen Rijeka's role as a key hub for Serbian rail freight.

The Belgrade–Rijeka TransFER route will operate one to two round trips weekly, with a 24-hour transit time, handling containers of various sizes and providing up to 76 TEU capacity per train. RCG also offers additional services, such as first- and last-mile organization and real-time status updates, enhancing transparency and planning for clients.
