The ÖBB Rail Cargo Group announced an increase in two-way trips on the TransFER Linz - Scandinavia - Wels route three times a week starting April 6, 2022. This is done for a sustainable car flow.

TransFER Linz-Scandinavia-Wels RCG creates a reliable and safe transport solution for the Scandinavian region with further connection possibilities in Northern and Western Europe. The company started transporting freight from Linz via Rheinkamp (near Duisburg) to Malmö in Sweden and back to Wels at the beginning of this year, and the load factor has steadily increased since then, especially for shipments of paper, steel, and consumer goods. ÖBB RCG has decided to increase the number of TransFER trips to three weekly round trips to relieve and stabilize the traffic on this route.

In addition, this TransFER shares a route with TransFER Linz-Duisburg-Wels in the Ruhr area, so RCG can also offer the addition of volumes to Scandinavia in Rheinkamp. In the same way, goods coming from Scandinavia can be distributed in Germany, France, Belgium and the Netherlands. Or the transport can go back to Wels for distribution in Austria and Southeastern Europe. Shipments to and from the central transfer station in Vienna are still possible using TransFER combinations.
