Alstom recently delivered the 300th train to Transilien SNCFetwo-deck train of the Omneo Regio 2N platform. This delivery is part of the agreement signed beside SNCF in 2010 which provides to produce a culmination of 860 trains for the French provinces. The 300th train is meant for Île-de-France Mobilités, which has ordered 145 trainsets from the Omneo Regio 2N platform. It will operate on the N line of the Ile-de-France line.

Omneo regio 2N train design combines capacity, convenience, comfort, and adapts to the variety of profiles and needs of commuters. One-floor cars are understandably easier to access for people with physical disabilities. The company stated that this design of car-connecting parts is called Boa. Allowing easy movement from one car to another.

We could see these following three facts as advantages

  • A modular and customizable train platform, available in different variants to meet the needs of French regions
  • An innovative 2-level architecture, allowing a large capacity as well as a tremendous level of comfort and accessibility
  • The trains were designed and produced at the Alstom site in Crespin, in Hauts-de-France.

"The delivery of the 300eOmneo Regio 2N attests to the success of this train in the different regions of France. Since its entry into service in 2014, this platform has been able to meet the diverse needs of the organizing authorities, thanks to its modularity. Its two-level architecture and flexibility make it possible to combine capacity and comfort and to meet the needs of intercity lines as well as those of regional or peri-urban lines, such as this 300etrain ordered by the IÎe-de-France region. Designed and manufactured at our Crespin site in Hauts-de-France, these trains contribute to the dynamism of the entire French rail industry. It is a great pride for our employees to see 300 trainsets already in circulation in 10 French regions and to know that production is far from over," said Jean-Baptiste Eyméoud, President of Alstom France.
