"As our terminal has eight reloading tracks, with an annual capacity of over 1 million TEU, and our own fleet accounts to 500 intermodal wagons, it has been natural for us to invest in our own locomotives," says Agnieszka Hipś, CEO of CLIP Group S.A. "I am convinced that Traxx locomotives will strengthen the position of CLIP Intermodal, contributing to the further development of sustainable and low-emission European transport corridors. We focus on intermodal transport as it has huge potential, especially in the context of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The development of this type of transport is also the best response to the challenges that stand in the way of improving network capacity and traffic safety in transport.”
The Traxx locomotives stand out for their operational efficiency, reliability, energy-saving performance, and easy maintenance, boasting a capacity for heavier loads and speeds up to 160 km per hour. They will be equipped with Alstom’s Onvia signaling system, the onboard solution for the European Train Control System (ETCS), ensuring seamless operation across diverse national railways.
Sławomir Cyza, Managing Director of Alstom Polska, expressed pride in the Traxx locomotives' role in fostering effective, eco-conscious intermodal transport, acknowledging the importance of Alstom's innovations in supporting the industry's growth in Poland and aiding logistics operators in achieving their strategic objectives. "I am convinced that Traxx locomotives will contribute to the further development of a sustainable and low-emission Trans-European Transport Network," added Cyza.
