Spanish rail infrastructure manager Adif has opened a tender for freight terminal space. The lease includes a 10,600 m2 plot of land and has a minimum budget of EUR 3,879,780 (excluding VAT). The leased space and premises will be used by the winner to provide services related to rail transport. Interested parties may submit bids until April 28 at 11:00 am.

The area covered by the tender consists of the following infrastructures:  

 

- an area of 10,600 m2, unpaved, in the northern part of the site, attached to Renfe's production and maintenance workshops

- driveway and parking lot

- logistics area: reinforced concrete beach 340 m long for intermodal handling of trains, storage and reloading onto lorries, with an approximate surface area of 8,000 m2.

 

The tender contract establishes a validity period of 10 years. The winner undertakes to invest at least EUR 10 million in the development of the areas under the contract. Among other things, the contract can be extended for an additional five years by agreement between the parties for a minimum amount of EUR 2,247,600 (excluding VAT).

After the deadline for bids, a public opening is planned for May 5, 2022, at which all bids received will be announced.

The Albacete terminal is located on Calle Felipe V, northeast of the city, between the A-31 and A-32 highways and the Albacete-Los Llanos station. It has direct connections to Madrid, Valencia, Alicante and Murcia.
