Mike Niebling has become the new Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Member of the Board of Directors of Škoda Transportation. One of the leading European manufacturers of public transport vehicles thus continues to strengthen its TOP management and sends a clear signal that Škoda wants to focus even more on selling its products in other markets, including Western Europe. Škoda Transportation Group is part of the PPF Group.
Our long-term goal is to strengthen our position in key markets and to further establish ourselves in Western Europe, where we see great potential. Mike Niebling has rich experiences in rolling stock sales across all Europe and he will be a great asset to the Group and will help us to achieve our goals. At Škoda Transportation, Mike Niebling will be responsible for global sales, where he will focus mainly on rolling stock (trains, trams, and metro). His extensive experience will play a key role in this, as he has been involved in the sale of these vehicles for more than 21 years.
Mike Niebling studied mechanical engineering with a focus on rail vehicle technology at the Technical University of Dresden. Immediately after his studies, he joined Bombardier Transportation where he worked for almost 29 years, mainly in senior management positions. He was responsible for sales of rolling stock, locomotives across Europe. In addition to established markets, he was also involved in expanding business opportunities into new markets.
Škoda Transportation Group has more than 160 years of engineering tradition and is one of the leading European manufacturers of vehicles for public transport. It offers its customers single and double-deck trains, trams, metros, trolleybuses, electric buses and provides full service for all products. Now the group produces trains not only for the Czech Republic but also for Slovakia, Latvia, and Estonia. It will soon introduce the first metro trainset for Warsaw and also produces trams for seven German cities (e.g. Mannheim and Bonn), Helsinki, and also for Ostrava, Pilsen and Brno.
