ÖBB is preparing for a significant generational change as approximately 20% of its workforce approaches retirement in the coming years.

To address this, the company has launched an ambitious recruitment campaign aiming to hire around 3,500 new employees annually. Over the next few years, this will result in over 17,500 job openings across Austria, marking a significant opportunity for job seekers in the mobility and logistics sector.

Furthermore, ÖBB is offering 1,600 apprenticeships throughout Austria in various job profiles, including roles like train drivers, train attendants, and dispatchers. These apprenticeships, which start monthly, are ideal for career changers, providing paid training and a pathway to a new profession.
