Russia has constructed a unique train, also known as the Tsar Train, comprising various types of carriages. What is the purpose of this immense train wall? To shield the Donbas from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russia has erected a 30-kilometer-long train in the Donbas, featuring 2,100 carriages. This train is designed to act as a barrier against potential attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Donetsk region, occupied by Russians.

The DeepState UA account on X reported that the Russians likely utilized rolling stock they had seized from temporarily occupied territories for the construction. According to the information available, the building of the train commenced in July 2023. As the train is gradually being assembled, it has even become visible in satellite images over the last nine months.

Analysts suggest that Russia's action aims to obstruct the advance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine towards Mariupol, that's been under Russian occupation since May 2022. It represents a distinct line of defense, as damaging, destroying, or blowing up a 30-kilometer train or mass of metal is incredibly challenging. From Olenivka to Volnovakha, there is a continuous belt of freight wagons. The wagons pose an obstacle, especially if they are not empty.
