Another major player in the railway sector reacts to the situation in Ukraine. Alstom confirms suspending all future investments in Russia. Alstom also holds a 20% share in TMH (Transmashholding) as capital investment. They intend to re-assess the book value as part of the fiscal year 2021/2022 closing accounts.
To quote the Alstom statement: “The Group will obviously comply with all applicable sanctions and laws and has decided to suspend all deliveries towards Russia.”
They were also heading toward a partnership project with UZ, a Ukrainian rail operator, but that has been suspended due to the invasion. Alstom expressed solidarity with UZ in these difficult times.
