Effective July 1, 2023, Klaus Wessing will take over as the new Head of Sales and Operations at VTG GmbH. He will report directly to Sven Wellbrock, Chief Operating Officer of Europe & Chief Safety Officer. A logistics specialist by trade, Wessing will oversee European sales activities for the company’s leasing, transport and logistics services in his new role. He already serves as Managing Director at VTG Tanktainer GmbH and will likewise assume this position for VTG Rail Europe GmbH and VTG Rail Logistics GmbH.

Klaus Wessing has been in the logistics business for more than 35 years, during which time he has amassed a wealth of industry expertise. In April 2021, his first job at VTG was that of Managing Director at VTG Tanktainer GmbH. Prior to this appointment, he had held senior posts at several corporate groups and joint ventures, including a stint leading a team of over 40 people as Head of Logistics at HELM AG. He had earlier served as Director of Operations and HSSEQ at Alfred Talke GmbH & Co. KG, shouldering management responsibility for business development, key account management and all the company’s operating activities.

Alongside his duties at VTG, Wessing has also been the Treasurer and a member of the Executive Committee of the European Chemical Transport Association (ECTA) in Brussels since November 2021.
