Vossloh has entered into a framework contract to supply Norwegian infrastructure operator Bane NOR through its Swedish subsidiary Vossloh Nordic Switch Systems of turnouts and crossings. Deliveries are expected to begin this year. Bane NOR is responsible for operating a network with a total length of approximately 4,200 km.

The contract, the cost of which, taking into account the options, exceeds 80 million euros, is designed for 2 years with the possibility of extension for another 6 years. In addition to the supply of serial products, the contract envisages the development of a new series of turnouts for lines with heavy traffic. The switches will be delivered assembled from the Vossloh factory in Sweden on special platforms that tilt when unloading. It also provides for the supply of a wide range of spare parts for switches and intersections operating in Norway.

As part of the network modernization and expansion program, Bane NOR is implementing nine major projects, including the construction of new lines, the laying of additional tracks, as well as the modernization of existing sections to meet growing demand and stimulate the switch of traffic to rail from other modes of transport.
