According to the results of the first half of 2022, the Russian container market decreased by 13.1% compared to the same period last year, amounting to 2.77 million TEU, according to the Russian transport company FESCO.
In the first half of 2022, imports decreased by 15% to approximately 1 million TEUs, transit by 19% to 369 thousand TEUs, and exports by 17% to 845 thousand TEUs. Domestic transportation increased by 4%, to 540 thousand TEU.

According to the results of June 2022, the container market of Russia fell by 31% compared to June 2021 and amounted to 387 thousand TEU.
Imports for June this year decreased by 33%. FESCO noted it was due to "a long-term decrease in traffic through the port of St. Petersburg." Exports for June 2022 decreased by 17%.
Transit for June 2022 decreased by 34% compared to the same period last year, but compared to May of the current year, transportation increased by 2%. On the route Europe - Asia, the increase was 6%. Domestic transportation in June decreased by 14% compared to June 2021.
