Thales SEC Transport was awarded a contract to deliver the signalling system for the northern and eastern extension lines of Nanchang Line 1, as well as the eastern extension line of Nanchang Line 2.

The extension lines of Nanchang Line 1 and Line 2 are an essential part of Nanchang Metro Phase-II construction. The eastern extension line of Nanchang Line 1 has a total length of 4.36km, while the northern extension line spans approximately 16.969km. Upon entering into revenue, the line will enhance transportation between the airport and the urban area. The eastern extension line of Nanchang Line 2 has a total length of 10.42km, which connects the three transportation hubs of Nanchang West Railway Station, Nanchang Railway Station and High-Speed Railway Nanchang East Station.

Both Nanchang Line 1 and Line 2 currently adopt Thales SEC Transport' Seltrac™ CBTC signaling system and the extension lines will adopt the TSTCBTC®2.0 signaling system which is compatible with Seltrac™ CBTC,  the new system can greatly improve the line performance without changing the existing system. This new Seltrac™ + TSTCBTC® dual-system solution fully demonstrates the continuity and compatibility of the Thales SEC Transport product line. The dual-system solution has also been adopted in the western extension line of Qingdao Line 2.

The TSTCBTC®2.0 signalling system has achieved successful implementation in such operational lines as Shanghai Line 5, Shanghai Line 14 and Zhengzhou Line 6. Its high-reliability and high-availability system design, coupled with the "dual CBTC" and "integrating interlocking with train control” system architecture, guarantees "zero interruption" operations of these lines. The system adopts a genuine moving block with the characteristic of refined management of line resources. It supports BI-ATO operation and turn-back at any location, enabling shorter headway and turn-back, significantly improving the overall operation efficiency.
