The sponsorship agreement signed on August 16, 2023, initially set to run from 2023 to 2027 between PKP Intercity and the Polish Olympic Committee, has been terminated. PKP Intercity has decided to end the partnership immediately.
Under the terms of the sponsorship agreement, which was supposed to last from 2023 to 2027, PKP Intercity was granted rights to use titles such as Sponsor of the Polish Olympic Team for the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad Paris 2024, Sponsor of the Polish Youth Team for the Winter Youth Olympic Games Gangwon 2024, Sponsor of the Polish Olympic Committee, and Sponsor of the Polish Olympic Movement.

As of September 10, PKP Intercity terminated the agreement with the Polish Olympic Committee (PKOl) with immediate effect. The primary reason cited for this decision is a loss of trust in the Polish Olympic Committee due to circumstances deemed significant by PKP Intercity.
PKP Intercity has incurred marketing losses because PKOl did not fulfill all the obligations outlined in the sponsorship agreement.
Additionally, a significant portion of the sponsorship benefits was scheduled to be delivered during the Olympic Games in the second half of the agreement’s duration. However, the conclusion of the Olympics has led to controversy surrounding PKOl officials in the media, which has damaged the media image PKP Intercity has built over the years.
