Vigeo Eris, an extra-financial rating agency, just published its report at the end of 2021. The report relates to environmental, social, and governance criteria of companies. SNCF received a 71/100 rating, and therefore it ranks as one of the best internationally rated companies in 2021.
In 2020, the commitment got reflected, for example, in recycling efforts by 96%, and the reuse of 4% of its rails. The company also installed 28,000 m2 of photovoltaic panels installed in particular around stations, in solar farms, and intended, among other things, to supply energy to the rail network. Another example could be biodiversity protection and the efforts to protect the environment.
Over the past three years, SNCF gained five points and received a score of 71/100. The results are the product of collective work efforts. Each staff member contributes to results through their activity in the commitments and policies of the company to meet the challenges of sustainable development.
SNCF got ranked as the sixteenth company on a global scale and third among the transport and logistics carriers. SNCF proved once again its influence on social commitments. VIGEO EIRIS, a leading extra-financial rating company, provides Socially Responsible Investment indicators by evaluating the Corporate Social Responsibilities performances of roughly 5000 international firms.
"These good results materialize one of the building principles of our corporate strategy: balance is necessary between the various elements of the TOUS SNCF house to guarantee sustainable performance," declared Alain Quinet, Executive Director General Strategy, and Corporate Affairs at SNCF Réseau.
