At the beginning of March 2022, Siemens AG launched a campaign to help its employees and Ukrainians fleeing their homeland because of Russia's military invasion. To date, the company has collected more than EUR 9 million in humanitarian aid, converted its Warsaw office into a refugee center for 150 people, and provided housing for refugees.
The donations collected by Siemens are sent to various organizations, which redirect the funds to finance different types of humanitarian aid (food, clothing, and medicine, temporary accommodation of refugees and Ukrainian employees of the company and their families, etc.)
Siemens employees can also directly help their Ukrainian colleagues via two new software platforms. Such assistance can be necessities such as food, clothing, and medicine, the transfer of which is coordinated with the appropriate persons in Ukraine. These donations are collected at three central locations in Germany and Austria and sent to the employees in Ukraine.
Among other things, Siemens has provided additional grants of EUR 3 million for the maintenance and reconstruction of the civil structure of Ukraine.
