The Polish branch of Siemens Mobility has appointed Tomasz Prejs as its new CEO, the changes going into force at the beginning of September.
Prejs, who boasts a huge background in the international rail industry, previously led the Polish branch of Stadler as Managing Director and President of the Management Board. His experience also extends to working with Honda Engineering Europe in the UK. This change in leadership comes as Siemens Mobility continues to strengthen its presence in the Polish market.

Siemens Mobility has been a significant player in Poland’s rail sector for over 30 years, delivering major projects such as the Inspiro metro vehicles in Warsaw and Combino trams in Poznań. The company is also the largest supplier of multi-system locomotives in the country, with clients including PKP Intercity, PKP Cargo, and DB Cargo Polska. In February 2024, Siemens Mobility secured a major contract with CARGOUNIT for the supply of up to 100 multi-system locomotives starting in 2025, further solidifying its market dominance.

In his first statement as CEO, Prejs said, "Our priority is to maintain our dominant position in multi-system locomotives, components, and service of our equipment in the Polish market. We also aim to have a strong presence in other areas, including entering the rail infrastructure market with electrification and signaling projects and being the first-choice partner for, among other things, modernizing the national rail transport system with a portfolio of regional and high-speed rolling stock. The axis of all our activities in Poland will be digitalization, which makes rail transport even smarter, more efficient, and safer."
Looking ahead, Siemens Mobility plans to showcase its innovative solutions at InnoTrans 2024, the world’s largest rail fair, set to take place in Berlin from September 24-27. The company will display key vehicles such as the Vectron locomotive, Mireo Smart regional train, and Velaro high-speed train.
