RAILPOOL, one of Europe’s leading rail vehicle leasing companies, will open a new subsidiary in Poznań, Poland, effective 1 October 2022. The new legal entity will be headed by Robert Nowakowski, who will also join RAILPOOL on 1 October 2022.
RAILPOOL has been present in the Polish market since 2009.
Torsten Lehnert, CEO of RAILPOOL, says: “The foundation of a RAILPOOL subsidiary in Poland is a logical continuation of our considerable activities in this market, one of the biggest and most important rail markets in Europe. RAILPOOL Group has acquired Nordisk TogTeknikk AS (NTT AS), a railway workshop operator, effective from August 31, 2022.
Robert Nowakowski has more than 20 years of executive experience in the rail sector including more than eleven years at DB Cargo Polska, where he served as a Member of the Board for the last five years.
Robert Nowakowski says: “I am delighted to join RAILPOOL in October to take their operations in Poland to the next level. I am myself strongly rooted in the local – and challenging – rail cargo market. Based on Railpool’s great success in Poland and in line with their ongoing expansion in Eastern Europe I am very much looking forward to helping them pave the way to meet the increasing local demand for powerful and reliable traction services.”
