Following a tradition of more than a decade, Rail Cargo Hungaria awarded academic scholarships to the students of the Austrian School in Budapest who achieved excellent results.

Dr Alexander Grubmayr, LL.M., Ambassador of the Embassy of Austria in Budapest and Román Kotiers, Member of the Board of Rail Cargo Hungaria, CFO presented the certificates to the students at the ceremony. The company has launched the scholarship programme to promote talent management, hence supporting students with outstanding performance in the Austrian School of Budapest.

Dr Alexander Grubmayr, L.L.M., Ambassador praised the valuable professional cooperation between the Hungarian subsidiary of the Rail Cargo Group, the second largest rail logistics company group in Europe, and the school. He emphasised: „The operation of Rail Cargo Hungaria is a success story in a competitive environment, and is also exemplary in terms of the sustainable and cooperative nature of bilateral economic relations between Austria and Hungary. The fact that Rail Cargo Hungaria is so committed to investing in the scholarship programme is a high recognition for the Austrian School. Hereby, I would like to thank RCH and would also like to express my hope that the cooperation will continue for many years to come.”

Román Kotiers pointed out: "Rail Cargo Group owes its results primarily to its employees, and therefore it regards the know-how of its colleagues as a key asset. In this spirit, Rail Cargo Hungaria, the Hungarian subsidiary of the rail logistics service provider operating in 18 European countries, places great emphasis on offering young people a stable life path even in a changing world. Rail freight transport is a future-oriented sector, one of the drivers of the economy's sustainability. In this field, companies employing ambitious colleagues, who are open to innovations, achieve significant results. Therefore, it is extremely important for Rail Cargo Hungaria to support young talents and promote the learning of new generations. Despite the changing external economic conditions of the last decade, the company held on to continuing its scholarship program, as it does now as well," Román Kotiers noted at the end, expressing his hope that young people who received the award will look at the railway as a possible option when choosing a career.

Margot Wieser, principal of the Austrian School of Budapest highlighted in her speech: „There are numerous reasons for the success of the Austrian School of Budapest. An essential point is a togetherness, a functioning and nice harmony of the people: a lively school community that is characterised by dialogue and partnership, appreciation, trust and respect – talented students, supportive parents and families and an experienced and extremely committed team of teachers, partners like RCH who accompany and support us. The scholarships are awarded to students who, in addition to excellent grades, also stand out for their social skills and participation in school life, and who thus play a key role in the success of the Austrian School in Budapest. Achievements must be recognized, through grades, but more importantly through personal feedback and praise. A nice example of recognition is the awarding of the Rail Cargo Hungaria scholarships."
