The European Commission has given Poland the green light for a 197.8 million euro program to support intermodal transport.
The funds will be directed toward the construction and modernization of terminals, the purchase of handling equipment, and the upgrade of rail vehicles. The aim is to improve the climate, ease traffic congestion, and boost the competitiveness of Polish transport.

The funds will be used for the construction and modernization of terminals, the purchase of handling equipment, the installation of IT systems at terminals, and the modernization of rail vehicles. In Poland, all transport projects are administered by the government agency CUPT, which pools resources from transportation, environmental, and regional funds into a single program objective. Intermodal transport is recognized as a contribution to improving climate policy, reducing road congestion, and enhancing the competitiveness of Poland's transport and logistics sectors. Contributions will be financed by the CEF fund, with a maximum rate of 50% of eligible costs.
