PKP Intercity has expanded its partnership with higher education institutions by signing an agreement with the Silesian University of Technology. This collaboration aims to foster innovation in the Polish railway sector through joint scientific, technical, and educational endeavours.
The partnership will result in a new educational offering, including courses, training, dual studies, postgraduate studies, and new majors and specializations to help students develop their professional competencies. Students will also have access to internships, apprenticeships, practical classes, and study visits.

"The prospects for the development of the Polish railway are increasingly promising. All the more so now that we are strengthening our cooperation with higher education. The implementation of the largest investment programme in the history of PKP Intercity will be facilitated by a specialised staff based on high-class specialists from leading Polish universities. We are convinced that the knowledge and experience exchange will benefit both parties - us and the scientific community," emphasises Krzysztof Świerczek, a Member of the PKP Intercity Management Board.
The agreement encompasses mutual support and continuous exchange of knowledge and experience for the development and research of the railway industry. This includes conducting joint scientific and research projects, preparing analyses and expert opinions, and organizing study visits for the university's scientific staff to PKP Intercity's organizational units. The partnership will also promote the railway industry's growth and organize joint educational and scientific events such as conferences, seminars, workshops, and symposia.
