PKP CARGOTABOR buys Alstom plant

PKP CARGOTABOR, a company of the PKP CARGO Group, has concluded a contract for the purchase of assets of the liquidated branch of Alstom Pojazdy Szynowe Sp. z o.o.

The contract provides for the purchase by PKP CARGOTABOR of the assets (tangible and intangible) of the liquidated Alstom branch in Łódź. The plant manufactures parts, components, and assemblies of electrical apparatus used in Polish electric and diesel locomotives.

Maintaining the existing production at this plant is in the interest of the PKP CARGO Group. The agreement is very important for the Group due to ensuring the availability of electrical apparatus repair packages for a series of locomotives used by PKP CARGO Group companies. Thus, the Group will ensure the availability of components necessary for the servicing of locomotives. The agreement signed by PKP CARGO is also of great importance from the point of view of the repolonisation of the Polish industry and maintaining jobs.
