PKP CARGO has secured a contract to transport over 16 million tonnes of coal and more than 2 million tonnes of limestone sorbents for PGE Group companies, PGE Górnictwo i Energetyka Konwencjonalna and PGE Energia Ciepła. These deliveries will span the next 30 months, and the gross value of the contracts stands at approximately PLN 1.2 billion.

PKP CARGO S.A.'s proposal was deemed the most favorable in a tender process for the transportation of hard coal and lime sorbents for PGE Group companies. Consequently, four contracts were signed to deliver these raw materials by rail to PGE Group's major power stations: Opole, Rybnik, Dolna Odra, and Turów, as well as to combined heat and power plants within PGE EC.

Under the signed contracts, PKP CARGO S.A. will transport a combined total of roughly 16.12 million tonnes of hard coal and 2.14 million tonnes of limestone and limestone meal. The estimated gross value of these contracts is around PLN 1.2 billion.

These new agreements build upon existing contracts. PKP CARGO has been transporting thermal coal for the PGE Group, one of the company's principal clients, for several years.
