Deutsche Bahn has named Katrin Habenschaden as its new Head of Sustainability and Environment. Starting December 1, 2023, Schaden will take over from Andreas Gehlhaar, who will depart from the company at the end of October to pursue a different professional opportunity outside the DB Group. This decision was ratified by the Group Board of Directors in their recent meeting.
Currently serving as the Deputy Mayor of Munich, Bavaria's capital, Katrin Habenschaden oversees climate, environment, and mobility initiatives. The 46-year-old business economist boasts an extensive background in overseeing transformational processes. In her upcoming role, she will report directly to DB's CEO, Richard Lutz.
