Pomorskie Przedsiębiorstwo Mechaniczno-Torowe sp. z o. o., a subsidiary of PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A., is investing in new machinery for track works. Following recapitalization by PLK SA, the company has acquired one of Poland's most modern MULTI TASKER KRC 1200 railway cranes. This equipment will enable efficient and precise execution of renovation and maintenance tasks on the national railway infrastructure network.

This top-quality trackwork machine will enhance the performance efficiency and optimize the operation hours of the Pomeranian Mechanical and Track Company.

"Efficiently executing works on railway lines demands the incorporation of cutting-edge solutions. The fact that PPMT possesses modern equipment for track works boosts the company's potential and competitiveness. Through modernization and maintenance, we achieve a higher quality of railway infrastructure in Poland and an elevated safety standard," commented Andrzej Bittel, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure.

The MULTI TASKER KRC 1200 railway crane will play a pivotal role in maintaining, modernizing, and expanding the railway network. The machine's operation ensures the safe passage of trains on adjacent tracks while efficiently performing renovation and development tasks.

"Repairing and maintaining the railway surface are among the core responsibilities of the infrastructure manager. To guarantee top-notch work quality, we nurture the potential of subsidiaries like Pomorskie Przedsiębiorstwo Mechaniczno-Torowe. Investing in state-of-the-art track machinery also prepares PPM-T for involvement in significant modernization projects and the construction of new railway lines in the coming years," said Ireneusz Merchel, President of the Management Board of PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A.

One standout feature of the MULTI TASKER KRC 1200 crane is its multitasking capability. It boasts an impressive lifting capacity of up to 150 tons and an extended reach, facilitating the installation and removal of large components. The machine is aptly suited for railway turnout block replacements and can also be employed for railway technical rescues. It guarantees precision during turnout replacements, the removal of sizeable track obstacles, and the repositioning of wagons and locomotives during emergency operations.

The KRC 1200 railway crane fulfils all the criteria for contemporary track machinery, ensuring high work efficiency under time constraints.

Pomorskie Przedsiębiorstwo Mechaniczno-Torowe sp. z o.o., headquartered in Gdańsk, specializes in the upkeep and refurbishment of railway roads and takes on sizable infrastructure projects, providing services in railway surface revitalization, modernization, and construction.

The company possesses specialized equipment for track works, such as track and turnout tampers, ballast profilers, track welders, dynamic track stabilizers, adjustment and assembly equipment for the traction network, and its proprietary rolling stock, including locomotives and wagons.

For its internal transport needs, particularly the transportation of aggregates and paving materials, the company operates 3-5 trains daily. It boasts well-furnished workshops, a machining centre, and a design and technology office.
