Knorr-Bremse initially received an order to supply complete braking systems for 150 railcars in South Korea's regional and commuter train segment. The company's investment in local testing and development facilities, the customer-specific design of key components, and the successful system certification were crucial factors in winning the order. Dawonsys has exercised an option in the existing supply contract to equip another 208 railcars with Knorr-Bremse’s braking systems. The electro-pneumatic braking systems include components for providing an efficient compressed-air supply, tried-and-tested brake control systems, and industry-leading wheel slide protection technologies for precise and consistently reliable braking.
