A long-term contract starting in 2022 with the end in 2025 and option for a three-year extension until 2028. That is the Knorr-Bremse framework contract with Alstom. More details below

Knorr-Bremse will be a selected systems partner supplying multiple systems for multiple units based on the Coradia Stream trains family. These three big new orders are for the trains that are meant for Denmark, Italy, and northern Germany. The value of these initial orders is in the range of low three-digit million euros. Knorr-Bremse will supply braking, entrance, and climate control systems for three major regional transportation projects for operators Trenitalia (Italy) – for their medium-capacity EMUs, Danske Statsbaner (DSB, Denmark) – who has signed a framework agreement with Alstom, firm first order of 100 Coradia Stream trains, and the Expresskreuz Bremen network (LNVG) in Germany, where Knorr-Bremse will supply systems for 34 modern high-capacity regional trains that are scheduled to start its service in 2024.

“The transition to more sustainable modes of transportation means that demand for clean, reliable, and available rail transportation in Europe is set to continue unabated,” explains Dr. Jürgen Wilder, Member of the Executive Board of Knorr-Bremse AG and responsible for the Rail Vehicle Systems division.
