The Škoda Group has teamed up with French manufacturer Alstom to deliver trams to Melbourne, Australia, home to one of the world's largest tram networks.
The partnership, marking a significant milestone, involves Škoda producing up to 1,120 traction motors for Alstom's Melbourne-bound trams. This order signifies Škoda's inaugural delivery to Australia. The delivery schedule extends from next year until November 2028, comprising 400 traction motors for 100 trams, with an option for an additional 720 engines. The total order value exceeds €13 million.
