In a strategic move aimed at enhancing its leadership team, Wascosa has announced the appointment of Christian Theis as the new Chief Sales Officer (CSO) and a key executive board member.

Bringing a wealth of experience from the European rail logistics sector, Theis's career includes leadership roles such as Managing Director at Wanne-Herner Eisenbahn und Hafen GmbH, and most recently, steering the helm at Rhenus Ports as Managing Director, where he was responsible for the sea and inland port terminals of the Rhenus Group. His appointment marks a significant milestone for Wascosa as the company continues to innovate and lead in the freight wagon industry.

Meanwhile, Irmhild Saabel, who previously held the position, will transition her responsibilities to Theis and, starting May 2024, will focus on expanding her role within the executive board to include the technical division along with her ongoing Business Development responsibilities.

Founded in 1964 and headquartered in Lucerne, Switzerland, Wascosa has been at the forefront of the special freight wagon industry, constantly driving innovation and striving for excellence in customer satisfaction. As Europe's first provider of freight wagon systems, the company boasts a versatile fleet tailored to the dynamic needs of the rail transport industry, including tank cars for the chemical and petrochemical sectors, combined traffic solutions, and bulk goods transportation.
