On 28 October 2022, RB Rail AS Supervisory Board announced the decision to extend the Management Board of the Rail Baltica joint venture RB Rail AS.

To strengthen the Rail Baltica global project’s team and face the existing and forthcoming challenges, the Management Board will in the future consist of six members: Chief Executive Officer Agnis Driksna (LV), Chief Technical Officer Marc-Philippe El Beze (FR), Chief Operating Officer Marius Narmontas (LT), Chief ESG Officer Anrī Leimanis (LV) and Chief Procurement Officer Marko Kivila (EE). The remaining position of Chief Program Management Officer will be confirmed shortly after the public search is completed.

The new Management Board of RB Rail AS will become effective as of 17 November 2022.

“Geostrategic importance of Rail Baltica keeps increasing demand for an even bigger focus on the areas that will allow acceleration of the project. To strengthen both the project and the team, the joint venture’s management will be extended, bringing in additional relevant competencies. With the respective changes, the new management will continue to work in full capacity to complete detailed technical designs, and ensure further financing and delivery of the Rail Baltica project in close cooperation with the national and EU project partners and strategic stakeholders,” said Romas Švedas, Chairperson of the Supervisory Board at RB Rail AS.

“This decision shows a strong commitment of the RB Rail AS Supervisory Board and other project parties to deliver high-speed railway infrastructure by 2030, while continuing coordination of Rail Baltica as a cross-border global project both in terms of technical solutions that ensure interoperability, unifying delivery approaches and quality, at the same time ensuring that sustainability and climate-neutral transport infrastructure goals are met,” said Agnis Driksna, Chairperson of the Management Board and CEO at RB Rail AS.
