The RAILPOOL Group, one of Europe’s leading rail vehicle leasing companies, took over Nordisk TogTeknikk AS (hereafter “NTT AS”) effective 31 August 2022.

With the acquisition, RAILPOOL expands its own workshop capacities to a total of six ECM-certified workshop locations in Germany, Norway, and Sweden. NTT AS and its 100% daughter NTT Sverige AB comprise workshop locations in Oslo, Gothenburg and Malmö. All workshops will remain accessible to all customers and locomotives for preventive and corrective services.

Torsten Lehnert, CEO of RAILPOOL, says: “The inclusion of NTT AS and NTT Sverige AB to our own workshop portfolio underlines our commitment to top quality full-service from a single source for the benefit of our customers. We have a long-standing deep and successful partnership with the NTT AS management and their skilled team, who are servicing in outstanding quality and reliability our modern locomotive fleet as our trusted partner in the North since the beginning of our rental activities in Scandinavia in 2010. We are therefore very pleased to have them join us in an even stronger connection, complementing RAILPOOL’s top-notch rail services for Norway and Sweden.”

In addition to its remarkable in-house maintenance capacity, RAILPOOL sustains an extensive spare parts warehouse and a constantly growing partner workshop network throughout Europe. Over the last years, the company has also opened further office locations in Austria, Germany, Italy, and Switzerland.

Ingo Wurzer, CFO of RAILPOOL, explains: “The positive development of our business through the last years has put RAILPOOL into the position to invest in a proper mix of both organic growth and the strategic integration of external resources to our company structure in a healthy pace. With the integration of Norway’s largest private company delivering locomotive and railway equipment maintenance services, we are certainly adding capacity and skills while continuing a responsibly planned growth journey.”

Currently, NTT AS counts around 50 highly qualified employees who will all join the RAILPOOL Group. Continuity is also secured through the company’s former owners Einar Hageskal and Katri Hageskal, CEO and CFO of Nordisk TogTeknikk AS who both continue to lead NTT AS in their managerial roles.

Einar Hageskal, CEO of NTT AS who also co-founded the company in 2005, says: “NTT AS comprises more than 15 years of experience in preventive and corrective maintenance services. By delivering quality in time to train operators in Norway and Sweden, we have been very successfully developing our business at the workshops in Fjellstallen (Oslo) and Gothenburg, which allowed us to expand and open an additional workshop in Sweden last year. Today, under the motto «never change a winning team» and with the shift of RAILPOOL from its role as a customer to the owner, my team and I are looking forward to a successful and even more intensive collaboration with our colleagues at RAILPOOL.”
