Each of them is extended for another five years at DB - Supervisory Board Chairman Michael Odenwald: "Clear signal for the growth course we have embarked on."
The Supervisory Board of Deutsche Bahn AG has set an important personnel course. During a regular meeting, the supervisory body extended the contracts of Dr. Sigrid Nikutta and Dr. Levin Holle by five years each. Nikutta will be head of Freight Transport until December 31, 2027. Holle will now head the Finance and Logistics division until January 31, 2028. Both had joined DB at the beginning of 2020.
On Wednesday, Supervisory Board Chairman Michael Odenwald said in Berlin: "Deutsche Bahn faces enormous challenges in the coming years. With today's contract extensions, the Supervisory Board is sending a clear signal for the growth course we have embarked on. Dr. Holle has the important task of financially securing the expansion of Strong Rail. We expressly support Dr. Nikutta's commitment to getting more and more freight onto climate-friendly rail."
"I am very pleased to be able to continue working together with Sigrid Nikutta and Levin Holle for Strong Rail in the future. We as Team DB are full of drive and want to decisively promote the railroads in the coming years," said DB CEO Dr. Richard Lutz.
At the same time, the appointment of Ronald Pofalla, a Member of the Board of Management responsible for Infrastructure, will end prematurely on April 30, 2022. He had recently announced his departure from Deutsche Bahn. Until a decision is made on a replacement, Richard Lutz will head the Infrastructure Board department on a provisional basis, following the current deputy appointment rules.
