Over the last five years, the Czech Railway Administration and the French state rail group SNCF have produced a detailed manual for the design, construction and operation of high-speed lines (HSL) in the Czech Republic. The cooperation between the Czech Railway Administration and SNCF Réseau continues based on an eight-year contract. Not only in the technical aspect but also the financing of HSL and the introduction of modern technologies, the Czech Railway Administration can take inspiration from the French. HSL, together with the functioning of PPP projects on railways, the issuance of green bonds or the risks in planning new infrastructure are the topics of the Czech-French Railway Days 2023, which are organised by the French Embassy, Business France CR and the Association for Infrastructure Development.
The Czech Railway Administration is currently designing 300 km of VRT, of which the most advanced are the sections of the HSL Moravská brána between Prosenice and Ostrava, the HSL Jižní Morava between Modřice and Šakvice or the HSL Polabí from Prague to Poříčany.

Similar to France, the operating speed of the Czech HSL lines will be up to 320 km/h. Following the French model, the lines will run primarily on the ground with minimal use of artificial structures, such as bridges and tunnels, thus reducing maintenance and construction costs.
