Two large national construction companies, the Hungarian R-KORD (part of the V-Híd holding) and the Czech AŽD, have signed a contract for the supply of signaling equipment and a single European Train Control System (ETCS) for the Szeged - Röszke - HU/SRB border project in Hungary.

As part of the modernization of the signaling equipment, AŽD will install a fully electronic ESA 44 station signaling system in Hungary, which will control traffic at two railway stations (Szeged-Rendező and Röszke). The delivery also includes integrated line signaling equipment, the supply of LED signal lights, level crossings, and the supply and installation of the stationary part of the ETCS L1 system for a total value of EUR 5.7 million.

The two companies will cooperate in the development, manufacture, and installation of railway signaling equipment in Hungary. The cooperation will include the application of Czech know-how and tools in the production of the final equipment in Hungary, as well as the development of software specifically adapted to Hungarian needs.

"We are pleased that our company can contribute to the modernization of Hungarian signaling equipment. This first major project in Hungary is the culmination of a huge effort and a great challenge for us to demonstrate the quality of Czech systems and the professionalism of AŽD. The trust in our company, expressed by István Sárváry, CEO of V-Híd Holding, at the signing of the contract, binds us," said Zdeněk Chrdle, CEO of AŽD, after the signing of the contract.

AŽD Slovakia and Projekt Signal subsidiaries will play a significant role in securing the line Szeged - Röszke - HU/SRB border.
