In an extraordinary meeting, the Supervisory Board of DB Netz AG appointed Dr. Philipp Nagl as the new Chairman of the Management Board. The 40-year-old will take up his new post on the rail infrastructure company's Board of Management on August 15 this year, succeeding the previous Chairman Frank Sennhenn.

Nagl has been the Board Member for Production at DB Fernverkehr AG since 2018. The Austrian has previously held various positions at DB Fernverkehr, including Head of Timetable and Traffic Management. In the meantime, he also worked for ÖBB's Corporate Development. Nagl: "I am very much looking forward to the new challenge. I am a railroad enthusiast through and through and want to get people excited about the railroad - an efficient infrastructure is at the heart of this. That's what particularly drives me in my new job."

Sennhenn will be stepping down as Chairman of the Management Board of DB Netz AG on August 14 of this year after more than nine years. The 58-year-old is thus taking early retirement.
DB Netz AG is the rail infrastructure company of Deutsche Bahn. With over 46,000 employees, it is responsible for the almost 33,400-kilometer-long rail network, including all facilities required for operations. On average, 51,000 trains run on the DB Netz AG infrastructure daily.
