In the Czech Republic, the Board of Directors of České dráhy, a.s., acting as the General Meeting of ČD Cargo, a.s., has accepted the resignation of Tomáš Tóth from his position as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of ČD Cargo, a.s., citing serious personal reasons. The resignation will take effect on 31 October 2025.

Until a new Chairman of the Board is appointed, the company will be managed by the current board members, Robert Heděnec and Martin Svojanovský. Regular operations and strategic tasks of the company will continue without interruption.

"I would like to thank Tomáš Tóth for his work for ČD Cargo. The rail freight sector across Europe is currently in a deep crisis caused by rapid changes in energy and industry, whose consequences we are now experiencing first-hand on the railways. A large-scale restructuring process is currently underway at ČD Cargo, and the main task of the new management will be to bring it to a successful conclusion and ensure that ČD Cargo’s business remains sustainable and profitable in the long term," said Michal Krapinec, Chairman of the Board and CEO of České dráhy, commenting on the current situation at ČD Cargo.
