DZZD Siemens Tron, a consortium led by Siemens Mobility, last week. They handed over two more new Smartron locomotives to the Bulgarian state carrier BZD. The new locomotives will get named after the Bulgarian ruler's Tsar Konstantin Tichen Assen and Tsar Boris III.

By delivering over these two Smartrons, the contract for the delivery of 15 vehicles from this manufacturer was fulfilled before its due. The commissioning of the two new locomotives took place at an official ceremony at the Poduyane locomotive depot, which got attended by the heir of the royal family, Simeon Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, at the invitation of the BDZ carrier.

It is a well-known fact that Tsar Boris III. was a big fan of the railway, a supporter of its development in Bulgaria, and a qualified driver of steam locomotives. More information about these leaders, after which the locomotives got named, can be found through the QR code on the locomotive's side.

Each Smartron has a specific QR code, which gets scanned by cell phone and gives information about the history of the ruler.

A respectful reminder of Bulgarian history, the interesting Glagolitic alphabet is seen, featured, at the front of the locomotive.
