Italian export credit agency SACE announced the new partnership agreement signing with Alstom. It will issue export credit guarantees in favour of Alstom, providing Italian exporting companies with an incentive to increase their purchases from the company.
"The agreement represents an important support for export and internationalisation, as well as for all players who work with us every day to build the future of rail transport," Michele Viale, the General Manager of Alstom Italia and Alstom Ferroviaria President, said.
As part of the agreement, Alstom is committed to participating in meetings arranged jointly with SACE to match suppliers with small and medium-sized companies interested in becoming suppliers to the Group.
The two main areas of cooperation envisaged in the agreement relate to direct support for Alstom Italia and a strategic partnership to support Alstom's international projects and exports in line with the size of the overall purchases the company will make in Italy.
"This agreement represents an important strategic element in support of export and internationalisation, facilitating access to financing by the Alstom Group and thus supporting, directly and indirectly, supplies from Italian companies, particularly SMEs," Pierfrancesco Latini, the CEO of SACE said.
Alstom owns a total of ten companies with over 3,500 employees across Italy and also uses several Italian suppliers for its overseas projects. It brings the total procurement volume over the past 12 months to around EUR 350m.
