After six years at EUROWAGON, Adam Butryn has moved to VTG, taking up a new role in the Polish market. He has been succeeded at EUROWAGON by Michał Poźniak, who now serves as CEO and President of the Board.

From Eurowagon Leadership to VTG

Adam Butryn spent six years at EUROWAGON, where he was widely recognised as one of the company’s leading figures and its most visible public representative. During this period, Eurowagon expanded its presence in the Central and Eastern European market and strengthened its positioning as a wagon lessor focused on operational reliability and safety.

Butryn became particularly well known across the sector for his active public role in commenting on the NYMWAG wagon safety case. At a time when concerns were raised over weld quality and structural integrity of certain freight wagons, EUROWAGON was among the companies that openly addressed the issue and communicated with regulators, customers, and industry media. His statements consistently focused on safety, transparency, and the responsibility of wagon owners and lessors to act proactively when risks are identified.

New Role at VTG

Butryn joined VTG in January 2026 and currently serves as Head of Market Poland. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing VTG’s commercial and market activities in one of Europe’s largest and fastest-growing rail freight markets.

The move brings a manager with deep regional experience and technical background into VTG’s structure at a time when competition in wagon leasing, fleet modernisation, and digitalisation is intensifying across Europe. Poland, in particular, plays a key role in east-west freight flows and international logistics chains.

Who Is the New Director of EUROWAGON?

Following Butryn’s departure, EUROWAGON is now led by Michał Poźniak, who serves as CEO and President of the Board. Poźniak comes from a financial and investment background, with more than 15 years of experience in management and finance, including over seven years in the rolling stock and wagon leasing sector.

Poźniak is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), focusing on corporate governance, risk management, and long-term asset strategy rather than day-to-day operational leadership. Before assuming the CEO role, he was already involved in EUROWAGON’s strategic and financial management, making his appointment a continuity move rather than a break with the past.
